Disc Golf in Sweden — Courses, Forests & DiscFinder
Share
Sweden is a forest-powered disc golf country: long pine corridors, city parks that double as social hubs, and destination centers that draw players in for bigger rounds. Starting is simple. Many courses are free, you show up when it suits you, and clubs and specialty shops keep both discs and advice moving.
Right now the world’s best disc golf course is in Sweden. On UDisc’s 2026 world ranking, Ale Disc Golf Center: White Course in Nol is #1 in the world. The Yellow Course at the same facility is #3 in the world. UDisc says White and Yellow are #1 and #2 in Sweden, and #1 and #3 in the world. We checked the lists on 4 October 2026 and do not quote star ratings.

Ale Disc Golf Center is in Nol, outside Gothenburg. White Course is the layout UDisc has at the top of the world in 2026, with Yellow close behind on both the Sweden list and the world list. UDisc describes the property as several courses across hilly woods, fields, and streams, and writes that the place nearly disappeared from the sport before it reopened and, in 2026, leads both lists. Nol also has Uspastorp DiscGolfPark at #4 in Sweden.
Where to play, and how it feels
Everyday golf in Sweden is as much city park as road-trip course. The Stockholm area includes Järva Discgolf Park in Kista on the top 10. Farther south and west, places such as Åkeslund near Hörby, Ymergården in Brämhult, and Äppelgården in Båstad are worth the drive. Many courses share space with walkers, dogs, and birthday groups, so pace and a clear “fore” matter.
- Tee signs are often Swedish-first, and distances are in meters.
- Summer evenings run late. In July, mosquitoes are worth planning for, and in October roots can be slick.
- The forest floor hides discs under berry scrub and autumn needles. In winter, popular city layouts still see rounds on packed snow.
- Shorter tees and multiple layouts make it easier to play across skill levels.
Finding courses with UDisc
The Sweden list and the world list are the starting point when you want to travel by ranking. In the app, sort and read fresh comments for temporary OB, closed holes, and parking. Rankings are player-based and move. The numbers in this article are how the lists stood on 4 October 2026.
Lost discs, pace of play, and peace of mind
Woods, meadow, ditch, and brush hide discs on famous layouts and neighborhood courses alike. Agree on a search time with your card, leave a bright bag at the last known spot, and fan out instead of everyone staring at the same bush.
On casual rounds, and when a tournament director allows night or snow, a melody from DiscFinder after a timer can turn a long mystery into a short walk toward the sound. Most PDGA-sanctioned events do not allow electronic beacons unless the tournament director explicitly permits them for night or snow formats. Ask before you attach one for competition.
